I have been using a number of softwares for a variety of tasks and I keep searching for software (especially free and open source softwares- FOSS)
I do a lot of different kind of work with my computers so you will find a huge variety of softwares in this list
 
This is a list of softwares that I primarily use for the tasks mentioned (Software Type). Some of them are open-source while others are not.

I have also mentioned alternatives for some of the softwares.

You can search Google for more information on any of the softwares.
